EPISODE 3 | The Lift That Keeps On Giving
Barbara came to Dr. Lee wanting a fresh start.
“I’m 60 years old… I’m single, no kids… I was married once, he’s a good guy, just wasn’t the guy. I’ve been in Los Angeles for almost 31 years, and I’m about to change my entire life and move [to Chicago],” she shared.
Barbara wanted to begin a new chapter in her life. She wanted to reenter the dating scene. She wanted to look as young as she felt on the inside!
Barbara wanted a facelift.
Fortunately, Barbara did her research and found Dr. Lee, who specializes in facial procedures. “I love facial plastic surgery because it’s such an intricate and meticulous procedure… you don’t use one single technique on everyone otherwise every [facelift] looks the same. It’s so artistic,” Dr. Lee explained in her confessional.
Every facelift is a work of art in Dr. Lee’s eyes because the approach to each and every one must be unique and individualized. We all know what a bad facelift looks like––because, well, you can tell there was work done! Dr. Lee divulged that the secret to a natural-looking facelift is avoiding any tension or pull on the skin that might cause a pulled-back, unnatural, manufactured appearance. “My personal take on the facelift is that it should look super natural, that no one should be able to tell. People should be able to recognize you. This is not the witness protection program,” Dr. Lee joked. “You want the same face!”
Dr. Lee formulated Barbara’s entire treatment plan during the initial consultation. A facelift complete with fat grafting would be the best way to address Barbara’s main concerns: the sagging tissue, jowls, and volume loss. During surgery, Dr. Lee liposuctions Barbara’s abdomen to remove any excess fat ––what Dr. Lee calls “liquid gold”––and injects it to restore the natural volume that we lose in areas such as the cheeks, temples and jawline. Then Dr. Lee makes her facelift incision hidden in the crease around the ear, tightens the underlying tissues, re-drapes and removes excess skin.
The results were astounding!
“Dr. Lee did magic with my facelift!” Barbara gushed. “When my family saw me, their jaws dropped. My sisters were all like, ‘Give me your doctor’s number now!’” Barbara goes on to say: “I feel like a million bucks. It’s been so life changing for me. I feel like myself, I look natural… Everybody recognizes me, and everyone has said the same thing: ‘If you didn’t tell anyone, no one would know!’”
